Home is where my heart is
Where I love to be
Spending all my time with my family
Where my brothers and sisters all surround me
I’m from where they pray to Allah
And think of Jesus as Issa
Where god takes center stage
And material objects become props
When I’m there I can be my true self
No one to judge me against anyone else
Where your neighbors become your family
And your teachers become like your mothers
While everyone around you knows one another
Where I can walk down the street without being scared
Because I know and trust everyone there
Where my guard stays down
As my eyes take in all the beauty that’s around
When I can hold my flag up high and proud
And feel like I’m surrounded with lied ones in a crowd
When I can look someone in the eyes and say that
I’m proud to be part of a country that’s so relaxing and free
And where everyone is treated equally
