Senior Year Agenda

Planner

Notes, records, documents, scribbles

Sibling of a schedule

Lover of hallways passes

Who fears the words “project” and “test” written on its pages

Who needs to pass quickly, yet knows nostalgia will kick in once it passes

Who gives neatness

Who would like to see June 13th come now

Resident of my book bag, or my hand

Organizer

From a Student’s Point of View

Teachers try to understand us

And understand where we’re coming from

Because us as students

We unite as one

They figure if they understand one

They have us all figured out

But they will never understand what we are all about

We are stereotyped and categorized, analyzed and criticized

But half of us are up to not good

In the teachers’ eyes

Most of us really want to learn

We really do

But the main thing that is stopping us is mainly you

Please take no offence

I’m just explaining from a student’s point of view.

The Forgotten Voice

Life is a gift that cannot be wasted

The time we have here to leave our mark

Is taken for granted

Many lay

Many complain

Many forget

What we can achieve

They sit and do nothing

Wasting their time

Asking others to make a change

Nothing will ever be done

If there is only one

Humanity is a large population

With a large mind

Many forget that they have a choice

They rather others make the choice

We are the people

Its time to spark

There are no mind readers

Only people who speak their mind

There are problems to be solved

Questions to answer

Make that step or you lose

It’s time for you to choose

Help others

Raise your voice

Find the solution

Help stop the pollution

Not only the pollution in the atmosphere

But the pollution in people’s minds

Do what’s right

And help stop the fight

My Home

The Balcony gazes over the clear blue sky

That holds the wonders of the world

The Sun embraces the sand

While the waves dance elegantly

The beach caresses each individual part

And the shells clench on to the see shore

The current rarely swallows swimmers

The beach beams with excitement

And that is why it is my home

Feeling of Life

There are times when things go right

Times when things go wrong

You have to keep your head up

And never look down

Don’t fill your body with hatred

Fill it with hope and love

Surround yourself with positivity

Keeping a smile because everyone can understand

What it truly means to be comfortable in oneself

Graduation cap thrown into the air

I claim these twelve years.

I never understood the tradition

But it’s playing a part in my transition

To a world that I’m blinded to.

I’m starting to think that I can finally be on my own

All the while I’ve got one foot stuck

In the doorway of my home.

Is it really new-found freedom if I’m homesick?

I’m homesick.

Life

A seed placed in the ground

small and perfectly shaped

covered well with dirt to protect it

It waits, still and patient,

being nurtured from time to time

with sun and soil as its food

and water for its thirst

It grows as time goes by

No longer jus a seed

But an object reaching maturity

out comes a sprout from a hard seed cover

Then another and another

Rooted firmly in the ground

the seed rises and stands on its own

Its long stem, sturdy

built with strength

The seed now a bud,

scared to open to the world

soft and delicate its petals grow

open for all to see its beauty

The sun rays fall on the petals

which were once upon a time a seed
